Weigh-In and Turkey Eve

Well, I thought I was going to post…unfortunately my phone is a piece of junk and isn’t letting me upload my photos for this week!! ACK! So I’m going to try to update later this evening. The good news is…I lost 1.4 lbs this week, yay ! I decided to kind of be stress-free about weigh-in this week, and it paid off. I only worked out 3 times (Sunday, Monday, and yesterday) because I had been sick most of the week, and Sunday I could only do 4 SONGS of zumba. So Monday I did 7 songs, and last night I did 11 songs, and tonight I’ll be back to doing the full hour (14 songs with a short break). Yay!

At any rate, I’ll post tonight–it’ll be short (mostly pics–I put up my Christmas tree this past weekend!)

This Past Week…in a Nutshell

So this past week has been packed full of lots of fun!

On Saturday, we went down to Ferdinand, IN for Christkindlmarkt with Bre, Scott, and Cadie. It was a lot of fun–we got to taste (and buy) a lot of wine and also got some fun little Christmasy things. Cadie got to see Santa twice, and that was fun too. We went to Santa Claus, IN (just about 10 min away from Ferdinand) and there were some really great Christmas stores there as well. I am totally in the mood to now get out our Christmas tree and all of our Christmas decorations this weekend!! Here is a pic of all of the fun stuff we got:

Lots of wine, some ornaments, chocolate, a gift for my brother, and some other fun stuff. It was a really fun trip!

On Sunday, I spent all day cleaning the house because on Tuesday, I had some wonderful company over! I started feeling sick on Tuesday afternoon, but that night we had planned to have some of our bestest friends EVER over–my bff Weston from high school and his partner Dan (they both live in London–Weston works for a large PR firm in London and Dan is a lawyer) and my other bff from high school Erin. We always get together at Thanksgiving because that’s the only time Weston and Dan come to the states, and I had planned to make dinner. It was tons and tons of fun to see them, but I just felt reaaaally sick all night. Then yesterday I went to the doctor and found out about the sinus/ear infection. Thank goodness that I have antibiotics–I already feel way better!

I’m trying to get the picture that I took of my weekly WI yesterday on the blog, but my laptop is being stupid, so sorry! At any rate, it just says “–13.0”, meaning I gained 0.6 lbs. I’m ok with this–I did zumba 4 times and I used weights each time, so I think my body held on to some water weight. I also ate a lot–we had Thanksgiving lunch at work on Tuesday, the same day that my friends came over and we ate a lot of food that night. This week has started out badly because I was sick yesterday and today, so I didn’t work out. Plus, when I’m sick, I have a fairly simple philosophy toward eating…I don’t give an eff what I eat because I feel so sick and that’s all I care about! So now that I’m feeling better, I need to make an effort to eat better as well. I’m going to try to do zumba Sat, Sun, Mon, and Tues of this week, so that should help.

Hope everyone is having a great week–this weekend, I plan to rest and to get my house all Christmas-ed up. Should be fun!! Anyone have any fun plans this weekend?

(OMG I PROMISE to fix my toenails before next week–I just keep forgetting!)

Look at that! Looks like I lost 2.2 lbs this week and am back down to the weight I was BEFORE I went to Michigan 🙂 Exactly at 222.4, which puts me at the lowest weight I’ve been throughout this weight-loss journey. And now I can tell people that I’ve lost 50 lbs again!

I don’t have too much to report, other than I was really happy about this weigh-in. I feel like I’m back on track thanks to the zumba and regular routine of my 8-5 workday, so that is really helpful. I also figured out that I can play zumba songs through Youtube on Patrick’s Xbox, so now I can do that at home on zumba off-nights. This is AWESOME as my walking DVDs really don’t have that much to offer compared to zumba…I barely work up a sweat after doing 2+ miles, which is not ok! So I did that last night for 30 minutes and the sweat was dripping. Yay!

Tonight I have zumba toning at the Y and my mom gave me the zumba sticks that she used to use. I’m excited to bust them out–zumba at the Y on Monday was reeeeally hard, probably because I’d done it 3 days in a row last week and then had 2 days off–so hopefully tonight will be easier.

Weekend Update!

First of all, Happy Veterans Day to those who are serving currently and those who served (cough cough Scott and Bre especially!)

Well, we had a nice, relaxing weekend! Bre and Scott cancelled game night so we just chilled out at home. I went to zumba that night to “Fun Friday”–I totally thought it was going to be fun, but like 10 min into it I realized that they call it “Fun Friday” because it’s the hardest zumba workout of the week!! Ahhh my legs were KILLING me, but it was a great workout. I’m glad I went, and I’ll go back this week I think. Here’s what Clara thought of our relaxing evening:

On Saturday, we went over to my parents’ farm for Patrick to hang out with my dad and for me to craft some with my mom. Look at the 4 goats!

I just thought it was so cute how they lined up like that! They are so funny. My mom is going to breed Shirley and Laverne in December so that we will have baby goats on the farm (and goat cheese, and goat milk…) in the spring…I can’t wait!

I’ve always wanted to do “Elf on the Shelf” with my future hypothetical children, but I think that the commercialized elf that everyone buys is a little creepy and I am weird about having the same commercialized Christmas traditions that everyone else does, so we decided that we’ll do “Gnome in the Home” and use these guys–isn’t that cute?!?!

At any rate, I’m off to zumba for the night. Hoping my 4 nights per week zumba pays off on the scale this Wednesday!

Quick Update

Hi y’all!

I am super swamped this week at work and haven’t been able to update, sorry! I am so glad to get back into zumba–I went to zumba toning on Wednesday night (uses weights) and could only use a 1-pound weight, but MAN I feel it in my arms! It was a great workout. Then to regular zumba last night, and Fun Friday tonight at the Y. I’m really stoked for tonight, it’ll be so fun! This weekend we don’t have much going on–just hanging out and The Walking Dead on Sunday. I’ll probably go over to my mom and dad’s tomorrow to do some Christmas crafting with my mom.

I’ve decided not to put up our Christmas tree until the weekend before Thanksgiving…I just feel like that’s a little more socially acceptable. So yeah, that’s what’s happening.

Not sure what we’re doing tonight, as game night was cancelled. We’ll play it by ear and I’ll be back with an update next week. Hope everyone is doing well–have a GREAT weekend!

Weekly Weigh-In and Goals

Yay, I lost 0.4 lbs this week! I knew the zumba would pay off. It’s also TOM week, so I really didn’t think I’d lose at all, but I’m pretty happy with this. Back on track and feeling good! (Also, so sorry for the toenails…they need to be painted again, but sandals weather is gone, and with it my motivation for having cute toes…)

As part of being back on track, yesterday I was thinking about goals. Whenever I reach the goal weight that I’ve set up myself on Weight Watchers, it asks me to set a new goal weight. Typically, I set these in increments of between 5-7 pounds, to keep it smaller and less overwhelming. I’m going to continue to do this on Weight Watchers, (my next goal is 221, so I’m only 3.6 lbs away from that!) but I have also decided on a longer-term goal that I’m going to set for myself to keep my eye on the prize, so to speak. My goal is this:

Be down to 200 lbs by March 1, 2014!

I think that that’s COMPLETELY doable, and I might even get down to 200 lbs before that date. I chose March 1 because that is the date that I really got serious about Weight Watchers this year, and I figure that 61 lbs in a year isn’t exactly what I originally had hoped for, but is still a huuuuuge accomplishment. My ultimate goal is to weigh somewhere between 140-150 (to be in the “average” BMI category for my height), and I want to be there sometime in 2015. Patrick and I want to go to Disney World in 2015, and I want to be at goal weight by then! At any rate, I think that having this over-arching goal will really help me to stay focused, especially during the holiday months; I need all the help I can get when it comes to Thanksgiving and Christmas eating!

A few of my blog buddies or Weight Watchers pals have come up with some really good reward systems for themselves, and I think I need to do that as well. I really haven’t rewarded myself with anything since losing 48 lbs (other than that cute pony dress), and I think that needs to change! Tomorrow, I’ll post what I’ve come up with–right now, I can’t think of anything as I’m working on a pretty decent headache and I need to get started with work for the day. I Did It!

I did zumba last night! I feel so much better about life, the universe, and everything now that I’ve done a full zumba workout–I hadn’t done one for WEEKS! The sweat was dripping off of me, but I felt fantastic the whole time. I didn’t die, woohoo!

At any rate, I’m glad I’m back in the game. Short blog entry here, but I really don’t have too much going on. This week, I’m going to try some light Shepherd’s Pie (recipe courtesy of Des @ http://www.skinnygeekwithin.blogspot.com) and some crockpot buffalo chicken. I’m super excited for both, and will probably cook them on the weekend. Patrick and I have NOTHING scheduled aside from The Walking Dead on Sunday night, so I’m not sure what we’ll do. I’m thinking maybe Saturday night can be a wine and Settlers of Catan game night, or maybe we’ll PUT OUR CHRISTMAS TREE UP. I know, I know, it’s super early. But I just can’t contain the excitement. I’m pretty much Buddy the Elf when it comes to Christmas!

OH! I’m going back to rehearsing with our university’s string ensemble tonight, which I am super happy about. I haven’t played my viola since before I left for travel season, and am ready to get it back in my hands. I practiced a TINY bit last night before zumba and am hopefully ready for tonight’s rehearsal. I reeeeally need to put new strings on and get my bow re-haired, but since I’m not playing at a conservatory anymore, I just don’t have new strings and bow re-hair as a monetary priority and that $$ needs to be used for other things, so I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get them. I might splurge on new strings in December–we’ll see! At any rate, it’ll be nice to play again.
