Quick update

Hey y’all!

Just wanted to let you know that I will be absent in posts next week, as I’m taking the week off work, electronics in general, and weighing in for some much needed R & R. More to come later! Woot woot!

Hope you all have a great week next week, and I’ll see you when I get back!

Weigh-In Wednesday

Weigh In Wednesday

Good morning, everyone! Ok, so apparently I’ve found the perfect formula for maintaining:

"--36.6"

“–36.6”

And YES, that is the same picture AND the same number from the past 2 weeks. Boo. It is TOM week this week, so I keep trying to tell myself that maybe it means I actually lost (?), but you and I both know that the last 2 months that I’ve had TOM, I’ve lost…so yeah. Once again, I know this is better than a gain, but I need to get my ass in gear. I skipped zumba again last night. There are plenty of excuses that I’ve got in my head, but none of them were worth actually not going. Boo.

And I have been active this past month, just not anywhere near as active as normal. Slowish walks on the trail and the occasional long bike ride just won’t cut it, weight-loss wise! I need to sweat!

In other news, I am so not proud of how I ate last night. It started out with a delicious, healthy dinner of tilapia and rice. Then TOM was like…eat some chocolate Kelly…you know you want to …and some twizzlers…and oh lord the skinny cow cookie dough ice cream bar–it’s ok because it’s SKINNY COW… yikes yikes yikes.

This

Picture this (but chocolate)

And then DEFINITELY this

And then DEFINITELY this

Boy did I feel like ish. At least it reminded me why I don’t eat like that anymore…I don’t want to feel like that for a loooong time. lol. I was like “oh GAWD I’m gonna have to put that on the blog for all of the world to see.” Well obv not all of the world but just my small little world of followers. But that’s what this blog is for!! Aight, I’m going to pick myself up, dust myself off, and try to act like I’ve got this under control. No gain is no gain!

Hope you all have great WIW’s!!

Weekend Rewind and a 10-Mile Bike Ride!

Yes, that’s right y’all. I biked 10 friggin’ miles yesterday, and damn does my behind HURT! lol. Look!

bike selfie

Everyone, seriously wear a helmet when you bike. I know that you feel like a dork but it is totally worth it…my brother had a serious bike accident a few years ago and I know a few other folks who have gotten in some bad bike wrecks, and it’s really important. There’s my plug for safety.

bike trail

More on this later…

We had a great weekend. Friday night was our office dinner at a fancy steakhouse; our VP takes us there each year as a “good job” for making our class, which we did and then some this year. I ordered amaretto-glazed chicken with garlic cheese mashed potatoes. I could only eat about 1/3 of all of my food! I also ordered a giant slice of rich chocolate cake for dessert, but couldn’t eat it because I was so full. I was really proud of myself…it took me 3 whole days to eat that cake, I finished it up yesterday!! (I snuck some bites in when we got home that night). At any rate, it was a great time, and I ate less than I thought I was going to.

Saturday was a major relax day for us, which we haven’t had in a loooooong time. We did manage to take Clara out on the trail for a walk, because it was really beautiful out. Patrick went on 2 walks himself that day…one before I woke up, and the one that we took Clara on! I was proud of him. The rest of the day I spent deep cleaning our microwave and our shower. That whole “mix 1 c. vinegar and 1 c. water and heat in microwave for 10 minutes then wipe clean” thing really DOES work, y’all! I tried it and our microwave is BEAUTEOUS now. It was disgusting before. I thought about taking before and after pics but I was so embarrassed about how it looked before that I quickly nixed that idea. I used vinegar and dish soap on the shower, and that worked pretty well too. Saturday evening was spent hanging out @ Bre and Scott’s w/ our friends to talk about Gencon, as event submission was yesterday and we needed to get all of our events in order.

Yesterday was an absolutely GORGEOUS day. I mean seriously, it was so nice, and not very hot. (Which is a rare but lovely combo here in the Hoosier state). We went to church, came home and did our event submissions for Gencon, and then relaxed for a bit. With the exception of one event on Patrick’s list, we got all the events we wanted, so that’s awesome! Now we just have to wait until mid-August 😦

Yesterday afternoon Patrick decided that he wanted to go play disc golf, but I wasn’t feeling it. So, while he went to be active, I decided I should be active too, and hopped on my bike. At first I was just going to ride to the campus where I work and back (it’s only about 12 min away on bike), but then I felt so good that I just kept going. 10 miles and 2 SHAKY ASS legs later, I was back at home. Ha! I rode all the way to Bre and Scott’s house (which is 4 miles from our place) and then to the park where Patrick was (another couple miles) and back. It was crazy!!!! I was really proud of myself though. Probably won’t be getting on that bike tonight though, lol. I rode for an hour and 15 minutes, which Weight Watchers tells me was 7 activity points! Woohoo!

Hope you all had a great weekend…I’ll see you on Weigh-in Wednesday!! 🙂

NSV Thursday

button

Time for another NSV Thursday!! Mine is allll about eating this week. I have been struggling with my point values ever since I joined the onederland club and got bumped from 33 to 32 points. Even just ONE point a day honestly makes a HUUUUGE difference!!! Any of my weight watchers friends, do you agree? I’ve had a pretty easy time adjusting to this throughout my journey, but for some reason, this one single point difference has been the hardest so far. The first week, I used all of my dailies, activities, AND weeklies and went over by 4. Last week, I used all of my dailies, activities, and 38 out of 49 of my weeklies. This week, I’m AIMING to eat only 28 out of 49 of my weeklies. We’ll see!

I am proud of myself this past week, however, for how I handled myself when we ate out. We typically only eat out once a week, after church. This past week, however, we ate out 3 TIMES!! That’s a lot for us. I made REALLY good choices at all of these places, if I do say so myself! I know I already talked about the salad on Tuesday night w/ Patrick’s parents…yum. On Friday night, our mentors from church took us out to get to know us a bit better, and I ate ANOTHER salad!! What is my life?! It was delish…fresh greens, mandarin oranges, tomatoes, feta cheese, red onions, grilled chicken, and cranberries. Yummers. On Saturday night, we went to Indy for Mother’s Day and ate out again with Patrick’s family. This time they wanted to go to The Olive Garden.

Also for you weight watchers out there…or any myfitnesspal/plan junkies as well…HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE POINT VALUES/CALORIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE OLIVE GARDEN?! Holy poo. It’s a lot of really high point, high calorie food. So, I ate 2 breadsticks (come on, those things are amazing and who honestly can eat just one) and then I got the wood-grilled salmon with broccoli. The salmon was actually reeeeeally good, I think I’ll get that there again if I go. Broccoli was ok, but I was proud of myself for my choices. I could’ve gotten fettucini alfredo (NOMS) or chicken parm, but I didn’t. So there.

Also, I skipped a donut when my coworker brought them in on Tuesday! Granted, I ate one of the leftover ones yesterday (lol) but at least I didn’t eat them two days in a row!!

So obviously I owned it this week with the restaurants.

like a boss

What are your NSV’s this week? Chances are I won’t be back until next week’s weigh-in Wednesday again…have a great weekend, all!

Weigh In Wednesday

Hi everyone!!

OK this is going to be a super short post. Sorry I haven’t been around much lately…long story that I will talk about in a month or so 🙂 SPOILERS! (River Song style). But JK really no spoilers.

So, this week isn’t that exciting:

"--36.6"

“–36.6”

Stayed the exact damn same as last week. Which is TOTALLY ok with me–it’s not a gain! My several weeks of skipping zumba have finally caught up with me! So now I’ve got to get back to it. I’m planning on going tomorrow night…fingers crossed that happens. My GI issues seem to have finally gone away, so I think I’m good now. Plus, I have a bike, and once it stops freaking RAINING all the time, I can ride my bike to and from work. Yippee!

Not a whole lot to say today, other than I’m glad I didn’t see a gain. Hope you all have a great WI and keep fighting the good fight! Cheers!

It’s Thursday, what what! I have a short and sweet (again!) NSV this week. Um it’s awesome. I ATE A DAMN SALAD ON TUESDAY NIGHT. When we went out with Patrick’s parents before hand I was all (in my head of course) “omg I so don’t want a salad.I hate salad. I feel like a rabbit when I eat it. Ew. But I SHOULD get a salad. But I COULD get some freaking fried chicken…but I SHOULD get a salad…” So what did I do? I GOT A DAYUM SALAD. With fried chicken on it! lol no but really I got homestyle chicken w/ it. I know grilled is better but om GIZZLE it was so delicious. And let’s be honest, a salad with fried chicken on it is about 8 points, and a fried chicken breast on a sandwich is about 15 points or more. Plus I would’ve gotten fries with the sandwich…let’s not even go there. This was me:

salad gif

Side note, if you all don’t know who that is in that gif, you should check him out. His name is Tyler Oakley and he is pretty much amazing…he’s a youtube sensation (follow his youtube channel…he’s basically a professional fangirl:) ) and he also does a lot of charity work for The Trevor Project, an organization that raises money for crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBTQ youth. Check it out–it’s an awesome cause.

Anyway, I was proud of myself for eating salad instead of fries, yo. Look how good it was!

I promise there was actually lettuce in there

I promise there was actually lettuce in there

It was soooo yummy. It had a spring greens mix with walnuts, craisins, apples, and a cut up homestyle chicken breast. I got raspberry vinagrette on the side–I’m not big on dressings, so I just used a tiny bit of it. It was so yum. I’m going out tomorrow night to a different restaurant, and I think I’m going to get their mandarin orange salad with a grilled chicken breast.

Here’s Clara after our walk on the trail last night to make y’all smile:

Have a great Thursday, and see you all next week!

Weigh In Wednesday

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I am happy to report a loss of 0.4 lbs this week:

"--36.6"

“–36.6”

And now you HAVE to believe me that I’m in onederland, because the pic proves it. Yay! So that puts me at 199.4. I’m honestly stunned that I lost any weight this week. I hardly worked out and I ate like a beast (horrible foods), so much so that I went “into the red” on my points by 7 this week. Hmm. But I’m still ok with the loss! I was sure I’d have gained like 5 pounds when I got on the scale yesterday. It was a pleasant surprise! The Eleventh Doctor is certainly excited about this!

excited 2

This week I am “re-setting” that on/off switch in my head regarding food. Last week it was totally off, and it seemed like my willpower had just completely gone away. I have been having some major GI issues that I think is possibly related to a new medication, and I’ve been on the couch a lot. Hoping to get that sorted out soon…

This week, I already feel good about my choices. I did eat a chocolate muffin for breakfast yesterday (I HAVE to go to the store tonight..I am out of protein bars!) but I went for a water instead of a diet mt. dew. Woo! I am going to have eaten out twice this week…once last night with Patrick’s parents and Friday with our mentors from church. But, I got a big delicious salad last night and plan on getting another one on Friday. Wooo! I know I can get back into the routine if I just apply myself. I haven’t been to the Y since before Easter, and am hoping to get back there tonight for some cardio kickboxing. Yay!

Hope you all have a great WI! Happy mid-week!
