New Year’s Eve Weigh-in Wednesday

Weigh In Wednesday Happy New Year’s, one and all! I for one cannot believe that it is going to be 2015 tomorrow, but such is life. I have had a WONDERFUL year, and am looking forward to the next one. Here are the jaw-dropping results from this week’s weigh in:



That’s right–that’s a loss of 2.2 POUNDS THIS WEEK! (I’m down to 182.4!!!) I could not believe it when I stepped on the scale. This is a huge victory for me…not only is it the week after Christmas, but it’s TOM week as well. I really think starting to use the weight machines at the Y last week paid off for me this week. I didn’t spend as much time at the gym because of the holidays, but I managed some walking in the woods at my parents’ farm with some big hills, so that helped. I did REALLY well with food and drink for the week, and didn’t go into the red with points like I did during Thanksgiving. I am so proud of myself for my control during this year’s holiday season. This year, I didn’t gain a BIT during the holidays! In fact, I actually lost SEVEN pounds between Thanksgiving and now!! πŸ™‚ I am officially down to the upper half of the “overweight” category on the BMI scale…that’s gotta be a first in YEARS. However, I’m going to be posting in the next few weeks about a book that I read over Christmas about obesity/health/BMI/etc. that has totally changed my outlook on things that I think EVERYONE should read. More to come on that later πŸ™‚ I am totally pumped that I am less than TEN pounds away from being able to say that I’ve lost ONE. HUNDRED. FRIGGIN’. POUNDS. Yippee! Christmas Eve Weigh-in Wednesday!

Hi friends! This will be a very quick post as Patrick is almost home from work, I’ve got a quiche in the oven, and it will soon be time to eat, exchange our gifts, and see some friends and family! πŸ™‚ So, here are this week’s weigh-in results:



That’s a loss of one pound this week! I’m thrilled with this loss–this puts me down to 184.6 lbs, which is my lowest weight yet on the weight loss journey. I also lost 1/2 an inch from my waist, 1/2 an inch from my hips, and 1/2 an inch from my thighs! I’m really proud of myself for this holiday season–I feel like I’m really in control of what I’m doing, food-wise and exercise-wise. It’s not easy, but it’s definitely paying off πŸ™‚ (HA–I say that now, but I’m getting ready for a huge Christmas eve dinner and a huuuge Christmas brunch…we’ll see how that goes, lol!)

I used the weight machines for the first time EVA yesterday at the Y, and although I am just a little bit sore, I feel good about what I did and that I didn’t push myself too far. I’m hoping to add that to my cardio workouts to improve my strength and build some muscle to burn more fat πŸ™‚ Yippee!

THIS IS ME!!!!!!!

I am so beyond excited for Christmas. My favorite part of Christmas every year is giving gifts to other people. In fact, I just happened to remember the other day that I will RECEIVE gifts as well, and that was a nice surprise. I honestly couldn’t care less about getting anything, and I TRULY mean that. I love to spend time getting or making unique gifts for people, and what better time to do this than Christmas! I’ve got to toot my own horn here, folks. This year I REALLY wanted to do something for my good friend coworkers because they work SO hard! It took me a while to think of something, but then I ran across something through my excessive use of Pinterest, and found an idea. Look how these turned out! I am so proud of them!:

I had two varieties–the hard alcohol kind, and the wine with the fruit to use to make sangria. It was a huge hit with my coworkers and they were SO easy to put together! If you’re interested in replicating, I simply used Mason Ball Jars ($10 for a pack of 9), ribbon, gift tags, cans of pop and tiny bottles of alcohol for mixers, holiday straws, seasonal fruit, and mini bottles of moscato wine. Overall, not a huge cost for 9 gifts total. πŸ™‚

At any rate, I am so excited and thankful for the Christmas season and especially for all of you, my blog buddies. You have made such a tremendous impact in my life, and for that I am so grateful. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all–I hope your season is filled with love and cheer. Let’s see what we can do in 2015!

Hello friends! Sorry to be blogging so little lately–but you can always count on me to check in on Weigh-in Wednesdays! Here is the result from this week:



YES! I have finally hit the “50” lb mark on this scale (even though I have lost 87.4 lbs total!) !!! I got this scale in August of 2013, so it has taken me a year and a few months to get to that 50 lbs lost–I’m totally ok with that. Slow and steady wins the race πŸ™‚ So this week’s loss was a total loss of 0.6 lbs. I am totally cool with that! I am down to 185.6 lbs. WAHHOO!

I should also add that I haven’t tracked my Β measurements since AUGUST 😦 That’s because when we moved, my tape measure fell in a black hole–but wonder of wonders, I FOUND IT this past week! So I measured myself, and here are the results:

Bust: 37″ , Waist: 33″, Hips: 47″, Thigh: 25″, Arm: 13″

That is a change of an inch or two in most areas since August. I was looking back at my earliest recorded measurements (when I started this journey, I weighed 273 lbs…I didn’t start tracking measurements until 260 lbs). So, at 260, these were my measurements:

Bust: 45″, Waist: 42″, Hips: 58″, Thigh: 28″, Arm: 16″

WOW, Y’ALL! Since 260 lbs, I have lost 4″ off my thighs, 3″ off my arms, 8″ off my bust, 9″ off my waist, and 11 FRIGGIN’ INCHES off my hips!!! That is almost A FULL FOOT! I can’t even believe that!

I did a great job with food and exercise this week–it is NOT easy during the holiday season, but I’m trying. I made myself get up before work again yesterday to work out, but just COULDN’T do it this morning. Going to try tomorrow morning and Friday morning. It is HARD, especially when it’s cold outside!

Other than weight loss stuff, I am busy doing your typical holiday type thingies–baking, watching Christmas movies, wrapping presents, buying presents, baking, baking, and more baking. Thank goodness I have wonderful coworkers who enjoy my baked goods, or else I would have to eat them all myself! Yowza!

Weigh In Wednesday

Good morning, everyone! It’s that time of week again–my FAVORITE time of week :)…weigh-in Wednesday! Linking up with my blog friends for this one, and am just now getting with the program and changing my linkup picture to their new one that they updated WEEKS ago. Jeesh, I have got to get it together!

Things at work have finally slowed down, so I have a quick few minutes to update. Here are this week’s results:



That’s a loss this week of 0.8 pounds! Wahoo! I am SOOOO close to seeing “–50” on that scale! It has been over a year since I’ve purchased it, so I’m ready to see that. This puts me down to 186.2, which is my lowest weight thus far on the weight loss journey. Yay–I’m only 13.2 POUNDS AWAY FROM BEING ABLE TO SAY THAT I’VE OFFICIALLY LOST 100 POUNDS!!! I can’t even believe it. My goal is to be down there by the time I go to my yearly physical with my doctor in mid-late March. We’ll see–definitely something to aim for!

I was worried this week because I was lazy on the workout front, but I think my metabolism saved me here. So far this week (I weigh in on Tuesdays so my week re-starts on that day), I am SO proud of myself. I have now woken up at 5:30am not one, but TWO days in a row…to…dun dun dun…GO TO THE GYM. Yes folks, I have gone to the gym at 5:45am now two days in a row! I decided that part of my issue in the evenings when I get home is that I just don’t want to leave again, especially when it’s cold…plus, the holidays always come with a lot of evening commitments for us, and I just don’t ever feel like fitting church choir practice or holiday coffee get-togethers or whatever in with a trip to the gym. So yesterday, I decided that I’d get up early and try it out. I am SO glad I did! It is amazing to be able to be at work and know that my workout is already DONE for the day. So I’m going to try to do this on weekdays that I know I won’t go in the evening.

Yesterday I did 30 minutes on the elliptical, and this morning I did 30 minutes on the stationary bike. With 30 min on the elliptical, I can usually get in 2.5 miles..on the bike today with an average speed around 95rpm, I “rode” 7 miles!!! Wooohoo! At any rate, I’m feeling good about everything right now. We’ll see what next week’s weigh in has to say! Hope everyone else has a great weigh-in! πŸ™‚

Post-Thanksgiving Weigh-in Wednesday!

Here we are folks! I was terrified of gaining this week after all the wine I consumed on Thanksgiving (I actually did really well w/ food that day), but got on the scale yesterday and saw this:



Same as last week, which means I DIDN’T GAIN A THING! I didn’t lose a thing, but that’s totally ok with me. I managed 32 activity points during the week of Thanksgiving, which I thought was really impressive. I was in the Y working out the night BEFORE Thanksgiving!! πŸ™‚
