Hi friends! I’m sorry I have been so absent in the blogging world lately, other than Weigh-in Wednesdays! I refuse to miss a WIW because it’s part of how I stay accountable, even if I gain or don’t lose or whatever. It’s a requirement for me, so here it is! I’ve been super busy at work and now that it’s Lent at church, there’s all sorts of music stuff that I’m doing there. ‘Tis the season as well for a spot or two of spring admission travel, so I’m busy preparing for that as well. In fact, I’m off to a 2-day conference this afternoon. ANYWAY, here are this week’s results:
That’s a LOSS of 0.8 pounds this week! This puts me down to 178.2. Wow! I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t do nearly as much activity this past week due to Ash Wednesday, girls’ night hosted at my house, blah blah blah. BUT I did 2 workout DVDs at home instead of going to the Y (winter storm) and I am proud of myself for that…I could’ve just sat my butt on the couch, but I didn’t! Plus, one of the DVDs was a Biggest Loser Bootcamp workout. Despite how I feel about Biggest Loser (if you don’t know I hate the Biggest Loser with a burning passion for ethical reasons), that workout DVD is awesome!! It is really great for people who are looking for a fast, cardio/strength combo workout of about 30 minutes. It kicked my butt! But it also helped me shed this 0.8 pounds, I think. If I have found ANYTHING out on this weight-loss journey, it’s that changing up types of exercise every month or two is important to keep the body on its toes! On Saturday I did one of Leslie Sansone’s “Walk Away the Pounds” DVDs. I have been a fan of her workouts since I was in high school, and they never fail to make me sweat. I did a full 4 miles with weights on Saturday! I never would have been able to do that a year or two ago. So happy w/ where I am right now!
I started this week out strong (weeks start over on Tuesday for me because that is my official weigh-in day) with a 30 minute elliptical workout (320 calories burned, baby) last night and a 30 minute strength training sesh @ the gym following the elliptical–I just rotate on the machines for that. I’m too scared for free weights at this point in my life, lol. This morning, I woke up at 5:45 and did 2 miles of Leslie’s 4 mile walking DVD…since I’m headed to the conference tonight, I figured I probably won’t get a chance to work out tonight. So proud of myself! Who knows, maybe I’ll jump on the hotel elliptical tomorrow. We’ll be doing quite a bit of walking downtown, so I may not even need to. 🙂
Well, that’s all for me. Time to get ready for my conference! Love you all and happy weigh-ins!
Hi friends! It’s time for Weigh-in Wednesday again! I did pretty well this past week, using almost the exact same amount of activity points and weekly points as last week, but with better and more consistent exercise. It got me the tiniest bit of results!:
That’s a loss of 0.2 pounds, which is EXACTLY what I needed to put me at 179.0 pounds! This means I reached my next Weight Watchers “mini-goal” that I had set for myself when I reached 189 pounds. So, I have a NEW mini goal–173 pounds. 173 pounds is my goal because once I reach that weight, I will have lost ONE HUNDRED POUNDS! 🙂 Very exciting. In addition, getting to 179 means that it’s time for progress pics!! Yay!
The last time I took progress pics was unfortunately 20 pounds ago, not 10 pounds ago, because I didn’t have a full length mirror in our new house. So, here’s the most recent progress pics just to give you an idea:
Left: 209 Right: 199.8

I FINALLY went and bought a full length mirror for my house, so now I have progress pics! Can you believe the difference?
Side view–this is me sticking my tummy out as much as I can!!
Look how loose this workout top is!
Front view with shirt pulled back–look at them curves!
Front view with loose shirt–can’t believe it!
For some reference, this is what that pink top looked like on me when I first bought it:
239 lbs, taken on 7/21/13

CRAZY! Hope y’all have great weigh-ins!
Hi friends! It’s a post-birthday weigh-in Wednesday! I did a pretty dang good job for how much I celebrated on Friday night with quite a bit of alcohol:
That’s a loss of 0 pounds, but that’s also a gain of 0 pounds. Yay for maintaining! I was able to get about 27 activity points last week, even with the “rest” days of Friday-yesterday. BOY though, I am ready to get back to working out after having missed 5 or so days. I have been cranky and way more tired than usual, so I know it’s time for a workout. Good thing tonight is 30 minute elliptical/30 minute lifting night! I ate (well, more like drank!) all my activity points last week and 19 of my 49 weekly, so I was pretty proud of myself for that.
Aiming for 30-33 activity points this week and only eating 9 or so out of my 49 weekly–that worked well the week before last. So close to my next WW “mini-goal” of 179! (I’m at 179.2). Have a great week, y’all!
Hi all! It’s that time of week again–weigh-in Wednesday! I was really looking forward to weigh-in yesterday because I felt like I did VERY well this week. I earned 23 activity points (not the best I’ve ever done but better than last week), and I ate all of those plus only NINE of my 49 weekly points. So, I was hoping to see some good results. And I did!
That is a loss of one pound since last week! This puts me down to 179.2…probably my lowest weight EVER. Ok, well not EVER, but I definitely maybe weighed this in 8th or 9th grade. I can’t believe it! My next “mini” Weight Watchers goal is 179, and I am SO close. Hopefully I will be there next week, but I am doubtful. Friday is my bday:
and I fully intend on celebrating with a night out and what will probably be quite a bit of booze. No regrets though–my bday comes once a year and I really haven’t “partied” at all for any of them recently. So I will have no regrets!
I still plan on getting about 30 activity points this week to make up for Friday night–I started out strong last night with 30 minutes on the elliptical and then 30 minutes of weight lifting. Tonight, I plan on doing the arc trainer (ugh) for 30 minutes. Tomorrow night will be 30 minutes of either stationary bike or elliptical and then 30 min of weight lifting. THEN the hard part comes. I NEED to get up around 5 or 5:30am on Friday (bday!) in order to get my bum to the gym to work out. I won’t have time after work, I’m *GUESSING* I won’t feel like going on Saturday (lol) and Sunday I only really have time for a short walk because the inlaws are coming for a birthday dinner w/ Patrick and me. SO I NEED to make myself get up and do 30 minutes on the elliptical or something easy that morning. All in all, that plus a short walk on Sunday will get me the 30 extra points that I will NEED to make up for Friday night, lol. And let me just add that I am not a lush–I do NOT plan on drinking 30 points of alcohol–however, we will be going out to dinner first at a place called “Charlie’s” where I can get a free delish burger for my bday. And I am doing it, people. So there is that.
(Note: “fun” fact–did you know that it would be possible for me to drink 30 points of alcohol with just TWO drinks? A typical long island iced tea [my fave] is 15 points, y’all. I will be sticking to light beer with the exception of my favorite chocolate stout @ our local Irish pub!)
At any rate, I’m super happy w/ this loss. May see a maintain or a gain next week, but life happens. (Literally as it’s my bday!) Hope you all have GREAT weigh-ins and a great weekend. ❤
