Super quick post as it’s office clean-up day and I am getting ready to deep-clean our office kitchen, yay! (No really, we love this day of the year, lol). Anyway, omg here it is:

OMG THAT’S A LOSS OF 2.8 LBS. OK here’s the deal though, I got sick with a stomach bug on Monday and I have a feeling that dehydration has a lot to do with this, so we’ll see what happens next week…but drumroll…

THAT MEANS I HIT MY 100 POUNDS LOST GOAL AND THEN SOME! I AM AT 172.6 NOW, PEOPLE! I can’t even believe it.

Seriously, that was me on the scale. I have some stuff percolating that I’d really like to write along w/ this blog, but no time today. Maybe tomorrow!

Happy Weigh-in Wednesday, y’all! I lost a LITTLE tiny bit of weight this week. I’m slowly working my way back down to being as close to 100 pounds lost as I was a couple of weeks ago:

That’s a little baby loss of 0.4 lbs, but I’ll take it! I am worried about weighing in next week; we have a huge family reunion on Patrick’s side of the family this weekend and there is bound to be lots of food and booze. I am kicking my butt working out before hand, but we’ll see. I need more self control than I had at the cabin, that is for sure. Between “dance fitness” (a new zumba-like class I am attending) last night and Thursday, yoga tonight, cardio on Friday evening and cardio/lifting on Saturday morning, I should at least counteract some of what happens this weekend with food/drink. We shall see…

RANDOM, NON-WEIGHT-LOSS RELATED INFO: A lot of my thought recently has been preoccupied with the fact that I (very spontaneously) decided a month or two ago to take a volunteer “working vacation” out to Pine Ridge, South Dakota, to work on the Oglala Lakota Indian reservation there with a wonderful group called Re-Member. Originally, my vacation week was going to be spent at home doing a “stay-cation,” resting and getting some things done around the house, but recently I’ve been more motivated through discussions in church adult Sunday school and other conversations to actually practice my ecumenical (if you don’t know that means, that’s ok–google it!) Christian faith by serving those in need. I am really thankful that this organization is a “non-evangelical” one; they have no interest in missionaries, and I have no interest in being a missionary. I simply want to live out my faith tradition through action, and hope that I can help show some of the people on the rez through those actions that not ALL Christians practice the dangerous fundamentalism that drove the white settlers/invaders to justify their hatred, racism, and violence toward Indians (that same fundamentalism exists today, unfortunately). In addition, many non-Indian Americans are completely unaware of the current conditions in which the indigenous peoples of this country are living, and I feel a huge responsibility to make people aware (if you are interested, check out these statistics) of the issues at hand.

At any rate, most of my thought is consumed with learning about the Lakota people, the history involved, and most importantly, the current life of Indians in the area before I take my trip. I will definitely keep blogging on Weigh-in Wednesdays, however, but will definitely be skipping out the week in July that I am in SD. Hope y’all have a great week!

WOOF, that’s a gain of 2.2 lbs! I have no excuses lined up for this time, y’all. I ate lots and lots of not so great for me food this past week, drank tons of alcohol, and didn’t exercise much. Oops! It happens though, and I was over it the minute I got off the scale yesterday morning. My willpower has (mostly, w/ the exception of that Dilly bar last night) returned for this week, so I’m doing better. I did get an extra point to eat a day with this gain though, lol…ha!

On the positive side of things, Patrick and I stayed in a cabin this past weekend at a local-ish state park. We invited a few friends and my brother and his girlfriend to come game with us; it was TONS of fun (and part of the reason I consumed so much food/drink!) On Saturday, we went on 3 different mini-hikes. On the third 2-miler, the trail ended at “Wolf Cave,” which is a tiny little cave that you can crawl through if you dare. My friend Jason and I TOTALLY went through it. Lemme tell you, I NEVER would have been able to crawl through that cave 95+ pounds ago. It was tiny tiny tiny and we were crawling most of the time, and then we had to army crawl through the exit. It was awesome though, and I am SO thankful that I’m not claustrophobic! We had a blast, and I am focusing on the NSV of the cave-crawling and not this week’s gain. I will get back to where I was in no time! 🙂

Weigh-in Wednesday 5.6.15

Hi all! I finally got my graphic for Weigh-in Wednesday with Heather, Erin, and Winter to work! For whatever reason the past few weeks that I have tried to post, it kept showing the old logo. So here it is, yay! Here are this week’s results:

That’s a tiny little loss of 0.2 lbs, but a loss nonetheless. I am now only 0.6 measly little pounds away from my one hundred pound loss. I am fairly certain that I will NOT get there next week–I’m expecting a maintain or a gain due to the food intake and lack of exercise this week. Yesterday was Cinco de Mayo, so my office went out for Mexican at lunch. I had some chips and cheese dip and an a la carte chicken quesadilla, and it was amazing. Then Patrick wanted to go out for margaritas last night for $2 margarita night at our local Mexican place–well, I had decided I would get sangria instead for about 5 points vs. margarita for about 15!!! (Which, btw, is more than half of my daily points; I got bumped down to 28 points a day a couple of weeks ago). But we couldn’t get seated at the restaurant so we went home and I had 2 little bud light beergaritas (lemonade–have you tried those? Amazing!) for 6 points total, so I did fine.

Anyway, tonight I’m going out to our local Irish pub for an Indiana local brewery tap takeover, and I’m going to eat there. Friday-Sunday we rented a cabin at a state park not too far away for a “gaming retreat”–basically we are just bringing food and games and we’re going to game 24/7. It should be awesome! If it’s nice out, we will try to hit some trails, but apparently it’s supposed to storm all weekend. We are doing food like tacos and hot dogs and of course our friends will bring lots of other yummy but not-so-great-for-me snacks so I just know that I’m going to rack up a lot of points this weekend with food and of course booze. THEN we are going to out to eat w/ my mother-in-law and her family on Sunday for Mother’s Day at a Chinese restaurant…phew. So yeah, obviously not expecting to lose next week. These weeks are really few and far between for me, however, so I’m not really worried about it 🙂 I did manage to go on a nice walk outside w/ my dog last night at a pretty high intensity for about 25 minutes. I wanted to do 30 but Clara was so tired that I had to take her home…she was TOTALLY over it. I need to get her more exercise!

I did yoga for the 4th Sunday in a row this week and it is getting easier! I am bummed about having to miss this Sunday but it’s ok, I will get back to it the Sunday after! Hope you all have great weigh-ins!
